SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.—A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy who reported his Cadillac stolen has turned himself in after an arrest warrant was issued for insurance fraud. The San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office said in a release Friday that 31-year-old deputy Eugene Peter Boese turned himself in Thursday. Prosecutors allege that Boese said his 2005 Cadillac CTS was stolen from the driveway of his Rancho Cucamonga home on March 14, 2009, and said he had both sets of keys to the car. The car was later recovered in Mexico, but an insurance adjuster said there were no signs of tampering with the lock or ignition. The release says a subsequent investigation revealed that Boese gave false information to the insurance company.
